Tragic Incident: Couple Burned to Death at Tepa.

In a heartbreaking incident that has sent shockwaves through the Tepa community in the Ahafo Ano North District of the Ashanti Region, a husband and wife died as a result of burns. Kwabena Tabi, 45, and Pinamang, 40, were tragically killed in an accident that left their family and the entire community in mourning. 

The unfortunate incident occurred on February 15, while the couple was on a routine trip to the supermarket. Kwabena Tabi and Pinamang were riding their motorcycles down the road when tragedy struck. A taxicab laden with gallons of gasoline on its roof suffered a fatal mishap. As the vehicle attempted to pass over a speed bump in Betiako, gallons of gasoline spilled onto the road below. 

In a terrifying turn of events, the spilled petrol ignited instantly, engulfing the surrounding area in flames. Tragically, Kwabena Tabi and Pinamang, who had arrived at the scene on their motorcycle, were engulfed by the fire. Despite valiant efforts to flee, they were severely burned in the fire.

The couple was quickly transported to the Tepa Government Hospital, where medical personnel worked tirelessly to stabilize their condition. However, the severity of their injuries necessitated additional treatment, prompting their transfer to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the injuries were fatal, and Kwabena Tabi and Pinamang died on Sunday, February 18. 

The tragic deaths of Kwabena Tabi and Pinamang have left a profound void in the lives of their loved ones. The couple leaves behind seven children, the youngest of whom is only one and a half years old. Their untimely departure has left their family in mourning, with the profound grief echoing throughout Tepa’s close-knit community. 

Following this tragic incident, authorities conducted a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The driver of the taxicab involved in the fatal accident is currently in police custody and is cooperating with investigators. It is hoped that a thorough investigation will shed light on the events preceding the accident and ensure accountability where necessary.
